A community advocate, volunteer, and at-home father of two.
Growing up in a Navy family, I learned early on the meaning of honor, commitment, and integrity. Those principles and values lead me today, as a husband, father, and community leader. I am a graduate of Frostburg State University and have lived in Anne Arundel County for over twenty years. Despite the Navy stationing my family in a different state every two years during my youth, I have always called Maryland home.
I strongly believe in community service and the principle that a few people can make a difference. Our county needs representatives that will work together to keep our taxes low and protect the values we conservatives hold dear. From Friendship to Crofton, Edgewater to Wayson's Corner, and all points in between...District 7 needs a representative that will be your voice on the County Council and always listen to your concerns.
For the past six years I have led the bipartisan, grassroots effort to convince the Board of Education, the County Council, the County Executive, and the State of the need to build a Crofton High School. Projected to open in Fall of 2020, Crofton High School will solve the overcrowding issues at Arundel and South River high schools.
Being a stay at home father, I have the time to volunteer in the community while my daughters are in school and be there for them when they are not. In 2013, I started a Watch D.O.G.S program at my daughters' school and since then we have added over 1,600 volunteer hours by fathers & grandfathers in the school. In 2016, I helped start a mentoring program at Crofton Middle called Power Hour. Both of these programs are alive and well and making a difference in the community.
